About Gricha - Founder of The Cocoa Project
We often affectionately call Gricha ‘uncle’ a man whose almost his life is closely associated with chocolate, or more specifically, with Vietnamese chocolate. Or, in his words:
“My job is to convince Vietnamese people to believe that they’re living in a country which has the most delicious chocolate in the world!”
Gricha has been in the chocolate business for more than 30 years.
Back to the old days, his desire to innovate in the chocolate industry started as a kid, when he asked his mother “Can we feed chocolate to the cows to produce chocolate milk?”
Gricha first visited Vietnam in 1993. Inspired by the vibrant spirit of the Vietnamese, he immediately decided to move his family and his chocolate business.
His passion for chocolate pushed him further and further to uncover the full potential of the aromatic Vietnamese bean. Combining this quest for flavor and the will to improve cocoa farmers’ livelihoods, Gricha developed Cacao-Trace.
